Established in 1978 by Mr. Francesco De Vita, Tecnicomar shortly became a leading company designing and manufacturing reverse osmosis fresh water generators, water purifying systems and sewage treatment plants for maritime, naval, offshore, oil&gas, defense, industrial, residential and yachting applications.
Since then, Tecnicomar has built a strong reputation within maritime industry supplying a wide range of products, tailor-made according to customer’s needs.

COMPANY HISTORY

1978

Francesco De Vita founded Tecnicomar, with the objective of designing and building reverse osmosis watermakers and water purifiers for nautical, industrial and domestic applications.

1985

Created to expand the presence on the territory and strengthen the service in the nautical sector, the company opens two new branches in Viareggio and Mazara del Vallo.

1990

With the new General Manager Tommaso De Vita, the company strengthens its presence in international markets and optimizes quality standards.

2001

After achieving the highest level of reliability in its products, Tecnicomar obtained the UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 Quality Certification.

2004

Tecnicomar introduces a new product line: ECOmar, a system for wastewater treatment that complies with international IMO/MARPOL standards and is accepted by the US Coast Guard.

2008

Tecnicomar inaugurates the new production facility for greater productivity, on a surface of 4,500 covered square meters.

2014

Tecnicomar, driven by innovative products, the result of continuous technological research and thanks to a widespread distribution and technical assistance network, extends its international presence to over 40 countries worldwide. In addition to the Quality Certification UNI EN ISO 9001:2000, the company obtains the Safety Certification OHSAS 18000:2007 and the FPAL Certification in the OIL&GAS sector.

2016

Tecnicomar begins construction of a new facility of 3,000 square meters of surface dedicated to the production of reverse osmosis watermakers and large customized plants. Laura De Vita becomes in March 2016 the Sole Administrator & General Manager of Tecnicomar S.p.A.

2019

Tecnicomar, always close to the most particular market needs, announces the launch of a new product: ECOmar S. The new series offers numerous advantages and is supplied with an approval certificate compliant with IMO/MARPOL MEPC 227 (64) regulations, including paragraph 4.2.

2020

Tecnicomar is certified ISO 9001 and 45001 to guarantee quality, safety and processes compliant with international standards in respect of customers and workers.

2021

ECOmar SX is born, the latest frontier for onboard purification. It is an innovative black and gray water treatment system, suitable for any type of boat. It is characterized not only by its reliability, but also by its highly compact structure. This allows easy installation even in small spaces. Certified according to recent IMO MARPOL MEPC.227 (64) Resolutions.

Joined the Tecnicomar team in 2007, Giuseppe Mezzapelle has held key roles within the sales department and in human resources management. Since 2021 he officially holds the position of Executive, contributing with experience and strategic vision to the company’s growth.

2025

With the new modern and functional facility, built on an area of 13,300 square meters, Tecnicomar reaches a total surface of 27,575 square meters dedicated to production and innovation.

Achievement of ISO 14001:2015 Certification. A significant step towards sustainability: the implementation of an ISO 14001:2015 certified environmental management system that reinforces Tecnicomar’s commitment to environmental protection and responsible innovation.
